Biopsy Needles

Semi-Automatic Biopsy Needle

General Description

A Biopsy needle is used to obtain a sample of cells from the  body for laboratory testing. During needle biopsy, a long, thin needle is inserted through the skin and into the designated area. Cells are removed and analyzed to see if they are cancerous.

  • Core needle biopsy uses a long, hollow tube to extract a sample of tissue.
  • Sharp trocar tip and a blunt-tipped stylet, The blunt-tipped stylet may also prevent puncture of intervening vascular structures.
  • Device Biopsy Needle Semi-Automatic:

Perform the simplicity of semi-automatic firing, the security of visual indicators and the speed that comes from excellent ultrasound visibility and consistent sample delivery, is a semi-automated, side-cutting core biopsy needle system.

Consists of:

Protector, needle, needle holder, finger holder, spring, needle trocar, safety lock, and trocar holder.

Intended Use

Intended for obtaining biopsy samples from soft tissue in percutaneous or open surgical procedures from various tissues (not intended for use with central circulatory system and central nervous system) through a combination of cutting and/or aspirating in such a manner that the biopsy sample is retained in the orifice of the needle.

Please note that this device shall only be used by a well-trained and qualified healthcare person or under supervision of a physician in hospital or clinical settings.

Product Features

  • Simple, secure, and fast
  • Lightweight compact instrument is designed to easily fit in the CT gantry
  • Unique ergonomic grip design provides multiple ways to use the device
  • Penetration depth indicator displays the primed penetration depth
  • Visual fire ready indicator confirms the sample notch is fully advance
  • Optional coaxial blunt tip stylet helps reduce the risk of damage to vasculature or other organs
  • Sharp outer cutting cannula is designed to deliver consistent core samples
  • Permits sampling from a single insertion point
  • Advanced echogenic technology offers excellent ultrasound visibility of the needle
  • The compact body, tactile-enhanced plunger and soft, pliable finger grips increase comfort and allow one-handed operation
  • Coaxial introducer; this option allows multiple sampling from one percutaneous puncture with minimal damage to surrounding tissue
